Hi Julián, Please update this if you find a solution - I am in the same situation, connecting to a remote Unix server via another Unix login server, only from a Mac.
The Spyder 'Connect to an existing kernel' doesn't seem to have enough flexibility to allow this. If I try to connect to the host as defined in my config file, it appears to try to connect to the remote kernel, but hangs forever.
