Ran into a scenario where there is disagreement on whether Annex A information is enforceable since the Standard language specifically calls out an Annex figure: Here is the language from NFPA 20 (2022) Section 4.16.4 regarding bypass configurations and whether gates both up- and downstream of the bypass check are required: [cid:[email protected]]
Here is the explicitly referenced Annex figure: [cid:[email protected]] I assert that, if explicitly referenced (as if referencing an outside document), that document becomes part of the standard and is enforceable as such. There are those who disagree and says that unless the Annex is formally adopted, it is not required. What say you? Ryan L.
