I am working on a project that looks to be an old pipe scheduled system. the branch line schedule is 1", 1", 1.25", 1.5", 1.5", 2" and the heads appear to be ½" 5.6K sprinklers. The spacing is 10' x 10' on the heads. There is a placard on the riser that states the area was calculated at a 0.60 over 2000 sq. ft., but it is newer I am assuming that this was put on the riser by mistake. From the type of heads and the spacing I would assume ordinary hazard is what this system was designed for. My question is there a limit to the design density for 5.6K sprinklers? It is my understanding that 5.6K sprinklers cannot be used for anything greater then a 0.20 density.
