Check FPA1 I believe I it does but only required control
valves for each level so the whole building does not have to be shut down.
Buildings up to 4 stories can be considered one zone for the sprinkler
system. Each floor should be zoned through the detection system.

Terry in So. Burlington also has it in their ordinances.

Subject: [Sprinklerforum] Floor Zone Control Assemblies

Floor Zone Control Assemblies in Multistory buildings exceeding 2 stories in
height are required in accordance with NFPA 13.

Is this also required in residential buildings designed in accordance with
NFPA 13R? The building in question is 3 stories and of wood frame
construction.
