Hi Ketan,

Thank you for your comments.

Draft-dong-spring-sr-4map6-segments illustrates IPv4/IPv6 address mapping and
packet transformation from the perspective of SRv6, the new SID mainly deal
with how to generate new IPv6 headers based on the information of IPv4 packets,
it does not involve SRH, so it can be considered as an approach of SRv6 BE.
Moreover, SRv6 is inherently within the scope of IPv6-only technology. I think
SRv6 aspect can be included in the next version of
draft-ietf-v6ops-framework-md-ipv6only-underlay.

Best regards
Chongfeng

Subject: [spring] Comment on draft-dong-spring-sr-4map6-segments
Hello Authors,

The draft refers to
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-v6ops-framework-md-ipv6only-underlay/
as the main framework document. However, that document does not reference
SRv6. Please correct if I have misread.

Further, there is a WG adopted draft in IDR
(https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-idr-mpbgp-extension-4map6/) which
includes the BGP extensions for this feature that also does not refer to SRv6.

The above drafts have the same set of authors as the
draft-dong-spring-sr-4map6-segments which is based on SRv6 and needs SRv6
extensions for BGP. That makes it unclear to me whether SRv6 extensions are
needed and if so why the framework (in v6ops) is not covering these SRv6
aspects.

Thanks,
Ketan
