Hi yisong，msr6 I think MSR6 is a very interesting topic. Encapsulating the multicast tree in the packet to realize the multicast status in packet instead of in the intermediate node sounds very fascinating.
However, as an equipment vendor, we hoped that the processing capacity of the ASIC or NP should be fully considered when designing the encapsulating scheme of the data plane. Compared with SRv6 for unicast, multicast trees may need to carry more information, so the length of newly added encapsulated information should be controlled. Avoid occupying too much bandwidth and exceeding the processing capacity of the ASIC or NP. thanks.
