FTR, RHEV logs use format like this:
<thread id>::<log level>::2011-11-16 13:43:40,205::<actual log message>
IMO, such time format is suitable for both needs (and given the
verbosity of logs with DEBUG levels, they would be unreadable without ms
precision).

And being consistent somehow with oVirt/VDSM logs would allow parsing
them in the same engine(s), for example.
Very useful for troubleshooting and debugging.
