This is using Ubuntu 11.04, I've built my own version of qemu-kvm-0.15, updating the package available to 0.15 and installed that way. SPICE is version 0.9.1, spice-gtk is 0.7. vdagent and qxl are both the latest available for download on spice-space.org. Guest is Windows 7 SP1 x64. All the packages are available on Launchpad [0], not that that matters. I was about to try adding the patches from http://cgit.freedesktop.org/~jwrdegoede/qemu to my package to see if that improves things. I've been experiencing the spice_chr_write: Assertion `s->datalen == 0' failed error intermittently as well so worth it just for that.
