-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 The method i use to launch my vm is sort of a hack.
This is CentOS6, yes, using libvirt, and qemu-kvm. No multiple displays My command line (as found in ps) follows: [root@kvm ~]# ps awx | grep vdi 31472 ? Sl 0:01 /usr/libexec/qemu-kvm -S -M rhel6.0.0 - -enable-kvm -m 1024 -smp 1,sockets=1,cores=1,threads=1 -name vdi -uuid 2b93a822-7fd6-1bd4-6b0a-da33e6c2bead -nodefconfig -nodefaults -chardev socket,id=monitor,path=/var/lib/libvirt/qemu/vdi.monitor,server,nowait - -mon chardev=monitor, mode=readline -rtc base=localtime -boot c -drive file=/var/lib/libvirt/images/vdi.img,if=none,id=drive-ide0-0-0,boot=on,format=raw,cache=none - -device ide-drive,bus=ide.0,unit=0,drive=drive-ide0-0-0,id=ide0-0-0 - -drive if=none,media=cdrom,id=drive-ide0-1-0,readonly=on,format=raw - -device ide-drive,bus=ide.1,unit=0,drive=drive-ide0-1-0,id=ide0-1-0 - -device rtl8139,vlan=0,id=net0,mac=52:54:00:79:6c:83,bus=pci.0,addr=0x3 - -net tap,fd=20,vlan=0,name=hostnet0 -chardev pty,id=serial0 -device isa-serial,chardev=serial0 -usb -device usb-tablet,id=input0 -vnc 127.0.0.1:0 -vga std -device AC97,id=sound0,bus=pci.0,addr=0x4 -device virtio-balloon-pci,id=balloon0,bus=pci.0,addr=0x5 -vga qxl -spice port=8123,password=s3cur3 -smbios type=1,serial=2b93a822 Looking at the above.. I think i see the problem. -vga std is in there, probably added by default via libvirt.. Let me have a look into that.. My "hack" simply tacks -vga qxl and -spice... on to the end of the commands passed to qemu-kvm when i virsh start my vm. Looks like i need to pay closer attention to what's already there.
