Hi Takeshi,

Yes I've tested it running Sphinx 1.8.3 on python 2.7.x and it seems to work
fine at least with html output (what I want), including with non-ASCII
characters. (The generated html pages are yutf-8 and tagged as such. which is
just what I'd want.) The only problem I can imagine is code that puts
docstrings into exception and log messages in environment that can't deal with
utf-8, but I'm not going to worry about that until I see it, if I ever do. BTW
I've gotten 1.8.3 running under eclipse + pydev as a pydev project. It's a
pretty complex codebase, but then, it does a huge amount of stuff. 😊 Great
job!

Subject: Re: [sphinx-users] autodoc (etc.) support for unicode docstrings in
Python 2.7 code?

Hi John,

You might already know, Sphinx supports unicode docstring.

Thanks,
