As you said, all of these modules are using image converter inside
because LaTeX engine does not support SVG images natively.

* sphinx.ext.imgconverter: imagemagick
* sphinxcontrib-svg2pdfconverter: inkscape or rsvg-convert
* svg.sty: inkscape, imagemagick or ghostscript

I think these converters is not perfect. I know they sometime fails to
convert for some kind of images. I don't know why, but some upstream
imaging software might be wrong.

So it is better to prepare PDF images for LaTeX output manually if you
want to output your document perfectly.
But, IMO, these modules work fine in almost case. Therefore it would
be no problem if you review the output once before printing.
