I have a system which allows something similar but registers a directive. For example:
.. resource:: title: Some title type: Article It treats the body of the directive as YAML then does some stuff like validates it and creates an instance of a class in the environment. Nothing for that node gets added to the output. Thus I suggest using a directive instead of a comment.
