Thanks - apparently I'm already calling {footmisc} with the option [] so
this causes a conflict in my current configuration. I will look into that.
I'm not explicitly using {footmisc} elsewhere in my conf.py - but I am
using {fancyfoot} which might be related. (I had some LaTeX experts help
with formatting in the past.)
