hi

i am trying to make links across documents in Sphinx, but not just to
another document, but a specific section in the document.

i originally tried `title <page#section>`_, but then this fails on
RTFD.org as it doesn't find the .html file. `title <page.html#section>`_
works, but i think it will fail in ePUB or PDF renderings. it also has
the disadvantage that i *have* to specify a title and can't rely on the
section title to be dynamically referenced.

i was hoping :doc:`page#section` would work, but i get an error like:

ERROR: Unknown target name: "page#section".

i have also tried :doc:`<page#section>` and :doc:`<page>#section`, which
give the error:

WARNING: unknown document: <page#section>

So is there a way to automatically make such links? I know about :ref:,
but i'd like to be able to link to arbitrary sections, without having to
explicitely add references.

Thanks

a.
