I am using sphinx in conjunction with numpydocs (however, I am seeing the
same problem without the use of numpydocs).

When including the option :inherited-members: to the autoclass directive,
the inherited members are not always listed in the autosummary.
It seems though that whether the inherited members are listed or not is
related to whether the base class is defined in the same file as the
deriving class.

I have been trying several things to no avail and believe the issue is with
the sphinx implementation. There is another bug report
<https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/sphinx-users/Avob81ALLYo> with
similar issues but since this issue was stated in 2014 I figured I start a
new post. However, the issue doesn't seem to ever have been resolved.

Does anybody have the same problems and maybe a solution for this?

Help would be appreciated.
Astrid.
