Many email configurations do not do effective spam checking on their
backup email servers. Spammers know this, so they intentionally send
spam to lower priority mail servers.

Spamdyke is pretty much only effective when it operates on the
perimeter, communicating directly with the sending server. If spamdyke
is not installed on a backup server, the one running on the primary
server becomes ineffective. The best solution is to have spamdyke
running on *all* MX servers for your domain(s).
