After a lot of research and trial and error I believe I've found the solution. Mimedefang needed a lot of tuning on the per process multiplexor processes as well as the number of min and max slaves. It appears as though I needed to increase the memory from the default 30000 to at least 60000 (still testing) and I increased the number of maxSlaves from 2 to 6 and the minSlaves from 0 to 2 (again, still testing). I've been running both the tripwire and the bigevil, as well as blackhair for the last 14 hours without the error. Below is my current multiplexor config for those that are interested.
I believe if you don't specify the memory parameter it will leave the memory consumption unlimited. Admittedly, that may cause its own problems down the road, but so far I haven't had problems because of it.
