I've got a RH9 server with SA2.61-1 installed. The server is a gateway for a number of different email domains. company1.com, company2.net, company3.org. I've got the three companies in /etc/mail/access and the forwarding/relaying is working fine. I can't get the forwarded messages to be piped through spamassassin and I'm not sure where to look.
SpamAssassin correctly intercepts messages that are sent to or from users local to the RH9 server but does not process any messages for users where the server is a relay. Does anyone have any idea what I need to do to get the relay to pipe through the spamd?
If you're relaying, you need to be integrated on the transfer agent (MTA) side of things, not the delivery agent (MDA) side. Procmail is a delivery agent. So, you need to get a bit fancier than just adding a call to SA in procmailrc.
I'd recommend looking at a MTA integration tool such as MailScanner, amavisd-new, or spamass-milter. If you want some more specific advice, post to the list and include what MTA you are using (ie: sendmail, postfix, etc). Most RH boxes use sendmail, but they also include some other MTA's as options on the CD.
