Mandrake 9.2 dual boot Windoze / Linux, Dell Inspiron laptop 4150. New to Linux, but loving it so far! Ex TRSDOS boy! but I still can't type :-(
Would like to dump Windoze. Running Sylpheed-Claws 0.9.8 and SpamAssassin with two isp accounts. Using SMTP. ADSL. Spam assassin filters on the first (default) account ok (bigpond.com), but doesn't filter on the second (rivernet.com.au). (BTW ~some~ of the mail via rivernet is redirected to my laptop from the office; this mail has already had one SpamAssassin pass at the office MDaemon mail server and has some SpamAssassin headers already - can this affect things at all?) Not all mail from the second isp comes via the office server. Must admit I have not set up SpamAssassin at all except install the plugin for Sylpheed, and written a filter to redirect the Spam to a Spam folder. I noticed a "GTK" plugin for SpamAssassin as well; not sure what this is. Should this be installed? I have Googled on this subject, but I cannot find anything which really I can understand. Very "computer challenged". Are there any special settings I should use, etc? Is there a whitelist / blacklist? Perhaps there is a config file I should write to somewhere with special settings? Any web page that explains this sort of stuff in simple English? All help greatly appreciated!
