What you are observing is natural selection in action. All mail that is correctly tagged is getting filtered or rejected and you are not noticing them. There are still a lot of dumb spammers. But they are not on your radar screen anymore. Now the only spam that you are seeing comes from a smarter breed of spammers. They are using much more sophisticated means of attack and they are harder to block. Harder but I don't think impossible. These were always there before but unnoticed among the flood of email. Spammers are known to read the same mailing lists that anti-spammers do and to be aware of the current methods of spam filtering. It is common for spammers to run their messages through spamassassin and other tools and to tune their messages to avoid being detected. You are seeing the results of that by spam getting such low points. This will cause the need to update spamassassin rules. This continuing evolution means that spam filters like virus filters need ongoing upkeep. > My normal daily email coming in scores higher than that. Your friends and family are not prescreening their messages and then correcting anything that triggers a rule like the spammers are doing? (Said tougue in cheek.) Eventually the fact that some spam scores so low may become an indication of spam! :-) Bob ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials.
