If you're being hit by a dictionary attack from a limited set of source addresses, you can adjust your firewall rules or tune Postfix's error limits (see http://www.postfix.org/rate.html especially smtpd_error_sleep_time, smtpd_soft_error_limit, and smtpd_hard_error_limit) Also, as suggested before, try adjusting your local_recipient_maps and virtual maps to specify only real users.
