Thank you to everyone who helped with this. I have gotten a system to
function very well, mail is moving through very quickly and seems to be
doing its job. I do however have a couple of problems.

First of all I am getting an awful lot of:

Dec 17 14:08:30 nabu spamd[31410]: Cannot open bayes databases
/var/spool/filter/.spamassassin/bayes_* R/O: tie failed: Permission denied

Secondly, my mail queue seems to have a fair amount of mail in that that has
been rejected but hasn't been deleted from the queue. Here is an example:

7D5C5232E62     9709 Wed Dec 17 14:07:33  MAILER-DAEMON
(Name service error for name=mx21.optvr2.biz type=MX: Host not found, try
again)
                                         [EMAIL PROTECTED]

And the corresponding maillog entries are:
Dec 17 14:07:33 nabu postfix/cleanup[25919]: 7D5C5232E62:
message-id=<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Dec 17 14:07:33 nabu postfix/qmgr[23142]: 7D5C5232E62: from=<>, size=9709,
nrcpt=1 (queue active)
Dec 17 14:08:13 nabu postfix/smtp[30846]: 7D5C5232E62:
to=<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, relay=none, delay=40, status=deferred
(Name service error for name=mx21.optvr2.biz type=MX: Host not found, try
again)

I know that these are just annoyances and will eventually be cleared from
the log (I have maximal_queue_lifetime = 20m) but I was curious if there is
a way to get these out quicker than that. I don't think they serve any
purpose, if it is a returned message that doesn't go through on the first
try why waste resources.

Thanks again to everyone who helped.

Dan

Subject: [SAtalk] Desperate Plea

Okay, after 2 days of trying to figure this out I am about to give up. Is
there anyone out there that would mind forwarding me (off list if you wish)
your configuration files? I am looking for local.cf, main.cf, and
master.cf. I would like to run spamassassin in a non-chroot envrioment and
have RH7.3. Any help that someone could give would be great.

Thanks in advance,

Dan
