Unfortunately, there are plenty people out there who don't use punctuation in the accepted way. So,they do write like this.Even though we might,perhaps,prefer they didn't. Similarly, you could write a rule that penalised users who didn't follow the convention of leaving two spaces after a full stop. But I understand that some versions of typed English leave only one space.
