Greetings!
I'm also using exchange 2000 as our mail server.
But what I did with spamassassin was I put it to face the internet and protect the
exchange server.

internet <----> postfix-spamassassin-amavisdnew-clamav server with iptables firewall
<---> exchange mail server

They work great together. I am able to filter not only spam but also viruses before it
even reaches exchange.

I first read all of them and got the parts that I need.
I think the lawmonkey link is too secure that some legit mail bounced without even
reaching spamassassin. :D
It is the part about fully qualified domain names checking... some of our corporate
clients don't seem to have those in them though I dunno why.

It just depends on your usage and needs. Hope that helps.

Cheers,

Subject: [SAtalk] spamassassin and Exchange 2000

Hi there,

I am using Exchange 2000 as an email server and i am having troubles with spam emails.
I am thinking to put a spam filter for Exchange 2000.

I was thinking on using Spam Assasin on a Linux box (or maybe windows machine). But i
was just wondering if anybody has tried Spamassasin with exchange before? DO they work
together ? And if they do, where can I find some intstrusction how to do that ?

Consider that I am totally new to spamassassin.

Thanks

Gentian
