No, the error message for lack of ham contains "ham(s)" not "spam(s)".
The check for spam(s) is done first, hence you may also be short on
spam.

You do need to have over 200 of both ham and spam.  If you say you've
learned a few hundred spam, something has gone wrong, but I couldn't
say what.  Try deleting your Bayes database and start again.
