I've seen a few legitimate e-mails come through with messages such as
the one you describe above. Unfortunately, they're usually from people
like financial advisers and such. Though I haven't seen any that weren't
from some kind of bulk mailing.

So, if you're just filtering for yourself, have at it. If you're doing
this for an isp though, I wouldn't if I were you.
