Apologies in advance if this question has been asked and answered many times over and I have just missed it. It also ends up being more a sendmail question but since this has occurred since installing and running SA I think there is relevance.

Configuration
SA 2.60 is referenced from procmail (which has been defined as the local mailer under sendmail 8.12.10) through a global /etc/procmailrc using the spamc/spamd combo. Procmail is version 3.22
OS is Solaris 8.

Problem:
sendmail is spawning many, many processes (average of 300+). Some do die out so the number of active processes change and to date (this configuration has been in place for a little over a month) we have not overflowed the process table nor had any memory/swap issues.

Does anyone have any insight into these issues? I guess as well this could be a sendmail/procmail issue but it wasn't until the addition of SA did I start seeing the increased processes.

Many thanks,

eddy keller
