If anyone here is actively participating on the SpamAssassin forum(s), or any other forum for related products: If there is a way to communicate to users of SpamAssassin (and other content-based spam tools) that using blocklists like dynablock.easynet.nl or any other dynamic/residential IP database to check _every_ IP address in a mail header is not the right way to use those databases, please do so. Dynablock should only be used to check the IP address delivering the email. We're getting more and more delisting requests from people who are faithfully using their ISP's smarthost to see their email rejected 'because it is from a dynamic/residential IP address' (two or three Received headers below the ISP's outbound MTA ..). We even got reports about an ISP that rejected email from its own dynamic pools. This will cut down spam figures considerably, but Jim, it's not life as we know it. - -- easynet.nl abuse handling dept. -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] - - blacklists/dnsbls: http://abuse.easynet.nl/spamstats.html - - - aup: http://www.nl.easynet.net/pub/av/aup/nl (dutch) ------ - - aup: http://www.nl.easynet.net/pub/av/aup/en (english) ---- - ------- End of Forwarded Message -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Exmh CVS iD8DBQE/nzlNQTcbUG5Y7woRAln4AKC+enxGpDdmKn6CVuToPycoiCm7CgCgrh2F qtTO+Uzh5FA17TcxJQ+zuL8= =rMuL -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: SF.net Giveback Program.
