That seems to help a lot.  My queues are shrinking.

I may risk leaving it up until tomorrow and see how it works
on Friday... If it bogs up again, I'm really going to be
doing some fast footwork to get it backed out ... and then
leaving town on Saturday, which will really be unpleasant if
things crap out while I'm gone.

(If so, maybe I can find a McDonald's with 802.11...)
