In upgrading from SA 2.54 to 2.6 (maybe from 2.54 to 2.55?) our 'report'
settings broke. They suddenly stopped appearing in the headers of mail SA
recognizes as spam. Up to SA 2.54 they work fine.

We've run site-wide (postfix+SA) successfully for quite a while. 2 Solaris
8 boxes and 1 OpenBSD 3.x box. spamd runs as user spamassassin and it's
config lives in ~spamassassin/.spamassassin/user.prefs. *---All other
settings in that user.prefs file (required_hits, etc) are recognized FINE.
We do not put any config files in /etc/mail/spamassassin or
/usr/share/spamassassin. I've tried putting our report settings in
/etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf but does no good, these settings are not
recognized either. (yes, I stop/started spamd after changing configs).

Strange.

By the way, our report stuff is Very basic:

# ............................................................
clear_report_template
report oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
report **---XYZ uses SpamAssassin to REDUCE Spam (UCE)---**
report For details see:
report http://intranet.xyz.net/dept/it/spamfiltering.shtml
report
report Content preview: _PREVIEW_
report
report Content analysis details: (_HITS_ points, _REQD_ required)
report _SUMMARY_
# .............................................................

been thru the docs at length, can't find an answer... except unclear
implications (?) that our simple 'report' settings may have been replaced
with the more compliated 'add header' stuff?? Unfortunate, if so, but I
can live with it - if indeed that's the case....

(side note: why does SA now install in /usr/local/share/spamassassin
instead of /usr/share ??)

Any help much appreciated.
Thanks,

Paul Ellis
