Yes, and the answer is... PROCMAIL!
(I sound like a, er, "scratched CD.") Since SpamAssassin only tags the email, something else has to make the decisions on what should be done with it afterward. PROCMAIL can examine the headers, look at the X-Spam-Score field, do a test against it, and redirect the message to wherever you wish. I think it's important for folks to remember that SA doesn't decide what you do with the message after it has processed it. Basically, after processing using the various tests, etc., the only thing it does is add some fields to the header, and then let it continue on to its ultimate destination. That's why PROCMAIL works so well hand in glove with SA. PROCMAIL can make decisions on what to do with a message that SA has mangled based on the information found in the headers like X-Spam-Score. Oh, and I'm sure there are other solutions than PROCMAIL, but I only use SENDMAIL, which is very cumbersome in the post-processing department, so PROCMAIL is the ideal choice for me. For all I know, POSTFIX, QMAIL, etc., can do their own processing and sorting. But the basic principle remains. William L. Polhemus, Jr. P.E. The SysAdmin before me installed it and left it's defaults running (it's not even the end of my first week yet). I've figured out how to change the threshold, etc, but my boss came up with an interesting question. I figure that someone on this list will be able to give me a definative answer. So, here goes: Would it be possible to immediately "flush" anything that scores 8.0 (and higher) while keeping email that scores 5.0 - 7.99 tagged as possible spam and still delivered to the recipient? ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ Spamassassin-talk mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/spamassassin-talk
