I keep getting this in my maillog. Any ideas how to fix it or should I not
worry about it?

I am starting spamd like this via spamd.sh in /usr/local/etc/rc.d:
[ -x ${PREFIX}/bin/spamd ] && ${PREFIX}/bin/spamd -u daemon -a -c -d -x -D
&& echo -n ' spamd'
