Well, you asked if any "Unix-like variants have ever caught a *virus*". I have had a customer that was minorly annoyed by RST.b. I also did indicate that Unix viruses are rare and have less impact. So just because it has not made "'front page' news" does not mean that it does not exist. Just like UFOs. ;) These days, there is very little difference between a virus and a worm. Many worms need to be executed manually, then infect other executables, then spred via network. Unix-like variants are not invulnerable, the are just currently no where near the magnitude of susceptibility of a Microsoft OS.
