I also run RH 9.0. FWIW, I simply went and got (and compiled) Version 2.55 from the tarballs.
The RPMs are good, but sometimes I just don't have the patience to wait till someone comes out with them (and I don't the inclination to learn how to make SRPMs myself). I like compiling from Source.
