I have been using spamassassin for a few days now and love it! I have been
able to set up whitelists for users in in user_prefs with no problems so
far. I do have two users that receive email from a yahoo group. Normally I'd
add the email of the list's email server to the user_prefs file and it would
be ok. However, mail to these lists never comes from the same sender. The
only field that is a constant is the subject. I know I could write a filter
for the subject line with procmail, but is there a way to single out a
subject line for white lists in the user_prefs file of spamassassin?

You don't want to whitelist on the Subject; line; the feature you want is whitelist_to. Mails to this list have varying senders, but they always have To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (or at least CC: same address, which is also checked by whitelist_to).
