Hi all, I wanted to upgrade to 2.55 and ran into the following problem: compiling works fine, but when the tests are executed (make test) the machine just silently crashes completely up to the point where even Ctrl-Alt-Delete does not work any more. This happens as soon as the tests for spamd are executed (before that, I can see spamd's start message appearing in the syslog).
I tried it several times, upgraded all the prerequisite perl modules to their current version, but it did not help. Now I wonder - can I skip building and testing spamd altogether (how would I do that) ? - is the system crash a symptom of a severe compatibility issue with spamassassin and this specific system (perl version, gcc, kernel ) so that even when I skip building spamd I would have to expect random crashes when mail comes in that matches similar conditions to those used in the spamd tests ? The system in question has: - kernel 2.2.14 (old SuSE) - perl 5.005_03 (SuSE package) - gcc 2.95.2 (SuSE package from same distribution as perl) and since it is an old legacy system on an internal network with lots of different apps neither kernel, gcc or perl upgrades are feasible in this case. Any ideas ? Regards, Ulrich -- COMPUTERBILD 15/03: Premium-e-mail-Dienste im Test -------------------------------------------------- 1. GMX TopMail - Platz 1 und Testsieger! 2.
