Hi,

We are having some problems with the bayes database after transferring
it from a test server, hoping to keep all the historical data we had
previously collected.

A colleague has setup the new server running version 2.55 of
SpamAssassin. He has tried moving the bayes files from our previous test
mail server running SpamAssassin version 2.50.

When running spamassassin in debug mode using the sample-spam.txt file,
we get the following error regarding "invalid argument".

debug: using "/usr/local/share/spamassassin" for default rules dir
debug: using "/etc/mail/spamassassin" for site rules dir
debug: using "/usr/exim/.spamassassin" for user state dir
debug: using "/usr/exim/.spamassassin/user_prefs" for user prefs file
debug: bayes: 16267 tie-ing to DB file R/O
/usr/exim/.spamassassin/bayes/bayes_toks
Cannot open bayes_path /usr/exim/.spamassassin/bayes/bayes R/O: Invalid
argument

We have also tried using 'sa-learn --rebuild' on the bayes database,
but get similar types of errors

debug: bayes: 16220 tie-ing to DB file R/O
/usr/exim/.spamassassin/bayes/bayes_toks
Cannot open bayes_path /usr/exim/.spamassassin/bayes/bayes R/O: Invalid
argument

Does anyone have any ideas how we can continue to use the BAYES
database from our old server, or do we have to start afresh.

Many thanks in advance for any suggestions to a resolution for this
problem.

Regards,
Bob.
