Autolearning takes place on mail that has scores that deviate significantly from the default. It's something like "autolearn as spam" for messages scoring over 15, and "autolearn as ham" for scores less than -2. This is to ensure that messages need to have a significant number of spam signs before being learnt as spam, and (effectively) that messages have no spam signs at all to be autolearnt as ham. This is something of an FAQ that's not yet in the FAQ!
