I had similar symptoms when I moved from one server to another. Ownership
on the bayes files somehow got fouled up. I simply deleted the existing
files and allowed SA to recreate them, and then I fed them my most recent
spam/ham as a starting education.

I do question, however,

Is your bayes supposed to be under /var/spool? If your sa-learn /
mailgate is running with lower level privs, you might not have the
ability to process files in that directory. My bayes files are in
$HOME/.spamassassin
