Arghh -- brain dead mail client. Thanks for the M::SA::DNS... tip.
I found out something even more interesting while I was doing some testing today.
If I
su - spamd
spamassassin -tD < sample-spam.txt
I find that the RAZOR2_CHECK fires and works, and the message score is 12, with 2.1 of that score from razor.
but,
su - spamd
cat sample-spam.txt | spamc
I find that the same tests except RAZOR2_CHECK are working, and the message score is 9.9, less the 2.1 that razor would add.
So, it appears that there is some difference between spamassassin and spamc/spamd.
Spamd is running under user id spamd, via /usr/local/bin/spamd -D -d -x -P -u spamd
Anyone seen anything like this before?
Thank you.
