In that case, doing "sa-learn" would be safe (if boths spamd and sa-learn observe the lock). But I take it, that also means spamd will "hang" during sa-learn, waiting to acquire the lock? Since I carefully kept my existing 2.44 installation intact, I might just run that while doing an "sa-learn" (sa-learn would have to process ca. 5,000 spams per day).
