I need
help.
I finally got fed up with the ever increasing mountain of spam hitting my
POP3 account that I had to do something about it. I came across SAproxy,
which is a POP3 proxy-based spam filter wriiten in Perl which internally
runs Spam Assassin. I tried it at work and it seems to work wonderfully.
Next I installed it on my home machine, but I can't get it to work. I think
it's because Norton Antivirus is also listening for incoming POP3 mail on
port 110 which is what SAproxy is looking for too. The clash seems to result
in Norton Antivirus winning. I don't run Norton Antivirus at work, I have a
different scanner.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I could configure SAproxy to proxy a
connection to Norton Antovirus? SAproxy has a Perl configuration script
which needs some port numbers setting, but this is not my area of expertise!
Please help!
For info, I'm running SAproxy v1.2.0 (2003-05-28) and Norton Antivirus 2002
on a Windows XP Home installation. Any help greatly appreciated.
