We implemented it for 10K+ users at our ISP with a default required_hits of 15 and we allow the users to modify their settings.
No false positives and the users are happy with the level of control they have.
I've also installed a similar setup for about 30 clients over the last 3 month's and they are all ecstatic with the results.
