Puzzling problem I have here. I use RH 8, Sendmail 8.12.9, Mimedefang 2.33 with SA
2.54 and I recently attempted to start doing RBL checks within SA. SKIP_RBL_CHECKS
(apologize if it is mistyped) is set to 0. For testing purposes, I have tcpdump port
53 running in a terminal session and have another terminal open running the command
"spamassassin -tD < sample-spam.txt". When I do this, I see the DNS lookups for the
various RBL checks that SA does.
The problem is that I do not see these same DNS lookups when mail is being processed.
I see my spamhaus.org check from the MTA, but nothing for the different RBL checks
within SA. I followed the installation instructions from Mickey Hill and have made
some customizations over the last 9 months. I have restarted sendmail along with the
server itself (habit from my M$ background.)
Any help would be appreciated. Just let me know if I need to post any of my config
files.
