I have spamd running as a specific user "mailsrv" using the -u command line parameter.  I the user_prefs file has been created in the users home directory, using the template.  I haven't set anything in it, so I assume it should use the system wide defaults just as spamassassin does as well (when I run this myself, the user that is executing it doesn't have any special user_prefs either) so this does work.  But again, for some reason, all scores reported by spamd are 0.0 while spamassasin works fine.

I think the problem might be with user accounts and their local settings. When you manually run spamassassin for example as a user "kevin" it reads different settings (from /home/kevin/.spamassassin), but when you run spamd it probably reads "root" settings or something else, try setting global settings for spamassassin (disable user settings, there are some switches, read manual...)

I'm trying to setup spamassassin 2.31, from the command line spamassassin works fine (run it in test mode with debug output) and detects spam and gives it a score.  I've setup spamd to work with iPlanet Messaging Server, but spamd doesn't seem to detect anything, the output doesn't lead me to believe there is any errors, but there is obviously something.  Here is my debug output from the messaging server:

So everything comes back with no score, even the sample-spam.txt returns no score.   So (i could be missing something very small) why is it SpamAssassin from the command line works, but spamd does not?  The following is a clip from the output of running SpamAssassin -t < filename.  This is the same message that goes through above with a score of 0.0.
