Spamstats expects to see your mailer and spamd logs in the same file.
The output you are having is a typical one from running spamstats on a
spamd-only containing file.

One solution could be to have exim log into syslog, which seems to me it
does not perform in a default setup.
Of course it depends on you if you want to do that..

Btw this spamstats behaviour will be fixed in 1.X branch of spamastats.
But it makes log parsing a bit tougher.
