Hello, I've been looking at various stats from my SpamAssassin system to try and decide how best to make it better, one of the things I wanted to do was reduce the level at which the system quarantines email so I thought I would look at how the scores for email were distributed and this is what I got:
Month <0 0-1 1-2 2-3 3-4 4-5 5-6 6-7 7-8 >8 March 29206 8602 8962 4227 2995 5115 2737 2213 1877 18610 April 31659 7799 6887 3740 2793 4668 2269 1817 1620 25936 May 53025 2567 1627 1668 1583 1644 1529 1554 1338 32063 I'm no statistician, but what it looks like to me is that the scores are tending toward the two extremes: Month 0-8 Total 0-8 as % of Total March 36728 84544 43% April 31773 89368 36% May 13510 98598 14% I am making the supposition that this is due to the bayesian system working well. The only other factor is my custom rules that push things above my quarantine level (currently 8), but I see a bigger trend in emails being given a lower than 0 score. I am running 2.53 with the other rules that give large negative scores set to zero.
