FWIW I just updated to 2.50 from 2.31 using the rpm. I did rpm -e spamassassin then I
did rpm --rebuild on the src.rpm. then rpm -Uvh on the i386.rpm. then installed the
other rpms and all went fine. On RH 8.0.

The only odd thing I notice is 2 different ver. of spamassassin in the message headers:

Received: from [EMAIL PROTECTED] by ironhead by uid 501 with qmail-scanner-1.16
 (clamscan: 0.54. spamassassin: 2.31.  Clear:SA:0(-0.9/3.0):.
 Processed in .384498 secs); 24 Feb 2003 04:14:43 -0000

then farther down I get:

X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-0.9 required=3.0
        tests=KNOWN_MAILING_LIST,RCVD_IN_BONDEDSENDER,RCVD_IN_RFCI,X_LOOP
        version=2.50
X-Spam-Level:
X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.50 (1.173-2003-02-20-exp)

which is a little confusing...
Now since i did the rpm -e spamassassin, i have no idea where the 2.31 ver. info is
coming from.

And in the maillog i get the following:

Feb 23 19:57:09 ironhead spamd[8890]: server started on port 783 (running version 2.50)

I type spamassassin -V and it gives the following:

SpamAssassin version 2.50

Not sure if this is something to worry about or not, by all indications I am running
the 2.50.
