Hi, I think I've discovered a severe mail loss problem with spamassassin and certain versions of sendmail.
Sendmail has a default timeout on quit of two minutes. Sometimes spamassassin (spamc), when attempting to do certain rules, such as dns lookup, can (but not *will*) block for longer than this timeout. When this happens sendmail will spit the following message: timeout waiting for input from local during Draining Input And the message will be lost. I've found that adding the line to sendmail.mc define(`confTO_QUIT', `20m')dnl seems to fix the problem. IE, this error hasn't occured anymore since I added the rule (it was doing it every 20 mins or so) and I haven't heard of any lost messages. I'll let you know if there's additional stuff that needs to be done. Thanks. --Russell -- Russell Miller [EMAIL PROTECTED] Somewhere in Northwestern Iowa ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.NET email is sponsored by: SourceForge Enterprise Edition + IBM + LinuxWorld = Something 2 See! http://www.vasoftware.com _______________________________________________ Spamassassin-talk mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/spamassassin-talk
