Other people have such a problem with exim, notably when fetching their mail
with fetchmail : by default too much local deliveries are done, so a lot of
spamassassin/spamd are running.
postfix limits the number of simultaneous deliveries to 2 by default. Maybe
sendmail have such a parameter anywhere...
You say that you are using /etc/procmailrc to filter mails through spamc, so
try to have a lock to have only 1 spamc run at anytime by changing :
:0fw:
to: :0fw: spamc.lock
